Registry? (buying for someone else)

Yesterday I bought a gift for a bridal shower I'm attending next month. I just realized right now that when I paid for it, I did not ask them to scan her registry. Therefore the item will not show up as Fulfilled. Doh!

Any way I can get them to remove the item from her registry, so nobody else buys it? This was from Macy's. I still have the receipt ... do I go to the store and ask them to fix this, or can I do it over the phone? (I didn't see anything on their website about this.)

I think you can call and tell them you purchased off a registry but the item didn't come off. They'll fix it in their system.

I had to do this with mine and just went to the store- I didn't try calling, but I'm sure if you have your receipt # and the registry # you should be fine

I wouldn't have them remove it. If she checks it and sees that it is gone she may go and add it back on. I would call with the receipt #. One of my friends told me they did this with one of my registry items and Macy's was able to update it over the phone.

Sorry, I didn't mean "remove" as in take the item off totally ... I meant to ask Macy's if they'll mark it as Fulfilled (as in, remove it from the items that still need to be purchased, and move it to the Already Purchased category).

Thanks, girls! When I get home in a bit I'll grab the receipt and call them.
