THE VENETIAN VS ADDISON PARK

Hi all, I am newly engaged and looking at both places to book the reception. Just curious to know if anyone has ever been at either of these places? Some pros/cons? and a price per plate? I am planning to have 200 people on a saturday night Nov 2013.. If anyone can give me some helpful feedback I would really appreciate it!

Re: THE VENETIAN VS ADDISON PARK

  • I went to a wedding at Addison Park at the end of October.  The place is beautiful and the food is great.  The only thing I wasn't crazy about was that there was a wedding happening in the room right next door and they share the same bathroom and staircase for taking pictures.  They try to stagger the weddings, but there's a good chance you'll end up running into the other bride.  I believe the couple payed around 165pp for 190 minimum on a Friday night.  I'm sure it's over 200pp for a Saturday.  HTH

  • I booked my wedding at Addison Park for 2013 and so far I've been more excited about my venue then the dress or anything else! Addison Park let us have a food tasting before booking and the food was awesome. Plus there was so much food we couldn't even finish the entire tasting from cocktail to main entrees. We came the night a wedding was going on and basically got to experience what it would be like to have our wedding there. They treated us with great service even with two other weddings going on and knew that the service would only get better on our night. I did not see the Venetian, mostly because of it being located too far north for my family. However, if there was one other venue in NJ I would have wanted to see or host my wedding it would be the Venetian. I think both of them give the same look and are gorgeous. You couldn't go wrong with either choice!
  • I went to a wedding at the Venetian.  The food was really good, the service people really knew what they were doing, but it was way, way over the top for my tastes.

  • I've heard great things about both venues. The Venetian is extremely oppulent and over the top whereas Addison Park has a classier feel. You can't go wrong with either venue though, imo.

  • Last year our company holiday party was at the Venetian. It was gorgeous and the food was great. The minimums were too high for us and it was out of our budget... I think it was 225 people for a Saturday and over $200pp all in. I've only heard good things about weddings there. I dont think you can go wrong either way. Good luck!

  • I love the look of The Addison. I have never been there but I loved the look.

  • I've attended a wedding at both places. Addison Park really didn't compare to the Venetian. Overall the Venetian was definitely more extravagant. The cocktail hour and Viennese hour were AMAZING at the Venetian. Addison Park had a pretty good cocktail hour. I wasn't crazy about my dinner. I didn't like that the rooms were so close to each other. At various points both brides ran into each other. This might bother other people but I personally didn't want to see another bride on my wedding day. I would go visit both places and see which place gets you more excited. I had my reception at Il' Villaggio and it was the only place I couldn't stop thinking about. Good luck!
  • thank you all for your help! I BOOKED at the venetian! I didnt like how addison park can have two weddings that are only seperated by a wall, and a single bathroom throughout the entire place. I also did not like that there was a roll in bar and the walls were very yellow looking. The place overall is beautiful and i heard the food was delicious as well

The venetian, however, i walked in and knew thats were i wanted it. Everything from the floors to the chandeliers is goregous. Its in a blah neighborhood but you forget about that the moment you walk in. He was very nice and he will work with you here and there. The cocktail hour is amazing as well.
  • hello, I was curious as to how much per plate was the Venetian asking for on a saturday night in 2013? We are looking into that place for spring 2013.

My daughter had her reception at the Venetian 2 yrs ago and it was simply amazing.  You made a very wise choice!  Everyone was blown away by the atmosphere as well as the quality and quantity of food.  The staff could NOT be more helpful on the days leading up to the wedding as well as the day itself.  I can't say enough to express how wonderful it was.  Good luck to you...you are off to a GREAT start with choosing the Venetian!
