Invites

How far in advance did you send your invites?  And how close to the wedding date was your RSVP date?

Unless you're getting married on a holiday or doing a B list, conventional wisdom says mail invites 6-8 weeks in advance.  We mailed ours out 8 weeks before.  Our RSVP date was set 3 weeks before our wedding date.  We have needed every last day! That RSVP date allowed us a 10 day window to track people down before we had to give final numbers to the caterer.

We sent ours out two months and one week before the date and our RSVP due date was exactly a month before the wedding.

LBM - I feel you on the invite wording. It was one of the hardest things we had to do.
