Processionals

Hi, I wanted to get some of your opinions on the wedding processionals.  Do the bridesmaids ALWAYS walk down with the groomsman, or can they walk down separately?  Is it weird if the groomsmen walk down alone, and then my fiance follows with his parents walking him.. then my bridesmaids followed by me with my parents?  Is it weird to do that or are the few friends who have told me that is weird wrong lol?

Re: Processionals

  • You can do whatever you want and your venue will allow.  It might be a little long.  How about just having the men walk in from the side and have the processional be bridesmaids and you and parents?
  • Almost every wedding I've been to, the bridesmaids have walked down alone.  The men have either already walked down a side aisle of the church or just appeared from a room behind the altar.

  • Well there is no side aisle because our ceremony is being held at a hotel, and my fiance doesn't want his groomsmen to stand up there while guests are coming (he wants to be with them until its starts!).  Soo the only way would be for the guys to walk down the aisle in the ceremony.  Given that's the only option, would you think its weird if you attended a wedding where the groomsmen walked down the aisle alone?

  • Also it's a jewish wedding which are typically pretty quick (rabbi said no longer than 25 min) so adding time is not an issue to me.  Hey, I'm happy to drag it out an extra 3 minutes! I'm only getting married once!! :)
