How many marriage certificates to get?

Hi,

How many copies of the marriage certificates did you get? I'm going to pick up my marriage cerficate later this week!

Are you changing your name?  If not, I'd say only one (based on the fact that we only have 1, and the only time we've used it is to prove we're married so I could get my husband's corporate rate at our gym).

I'm getting 3 - I think that should cover it - many places just need to see it, but not keep it.

Still deciding about changing my name. I'm using his last name socially but still deciding if I will change it legally & for business.

If you need to change your passport you need to send it in so you would need 2 at least. Everywhere else I have changed my name only needed a copy or just to look at it in person.

I got 2 because I thought for sure someone would need an original. But everyone just had to see it and give it back. My passport was the last thing I changed, and after I mailed it in, they mailed the documents right back to me. So honestly, one should cover you.
