    Welcome and congrats!

Is there maybe more friends and family in TX or NJ? I think sometimes in your situation people will get married where they have the most family and/or friends.

Do a destination wedding then since people have to fly no matter what.

I third the destination idea. Pick a place that everyone will be able to get away for the weekend and have fun.

It sounds like you have a lot of people in NJ -- would they be happy to travel for the wedding?  If so, maybe a destination wedding would make sense.  But I wouldn't do it to save money (it is kind of mean to your guests to make them all spend thousands to attend your wedding so you can save money), and if you go that route you have to understand that some people are very against destination weddings and a lot of people won't be able to go.

I agree on destination, or a middle of the road place.

Have you talked to your VIP guests yet (both sets of parents, grandparents, best friends)? If your heart is set on having your grandma there, but she can't fly to Texas, then that may answer the question right there.

There's no wrong answer here. Either state is fine, or the destination wedding (if your VIPs are all willing and able to fly) would be a fair option.

This is the factor that allowed us to decide where my FI and I were having our wedding. A lot of family both his and mine are still in NJ. We do have some extended family from out of state. But this was the most logical for our situation.
I agree that there is no right or wrong answer. I would definitely check with your VIP guests to see if they would be willing to travel for a destination wedding.
