NWR--Airport Transportation

FI and I are taking a trip to San Francisco in a few weeks and we need airport transportation.  Anyone know of a good cab/shuttle service that you would recommend?

Where are you?  In Union Co. I use Cranford Taxi or Caribe Taxi.  Great prices!

We like driving ourselves and leaving our car at Vista parking... Less waiting and u can go and come as you need.

@ Reilly, thanks.  In Hawthorne.  I've been looking online, but I have this irrantional fear that we'll book something and they'll never come and get us and we'll miss our flight.  It's weird, because, worst case scenario,  we could always just drive to the airport.

@ Danes--where is Vista parking?  Right by the airport?

Yup its literally like 5 minutes away.  You can find a coupon online for like $10 a day.  You drive to them, they drive you to and from the airport. WAY cheaper than a car service I think.

Ditto to Danes suggestion.  We have used Vista several times and its a good less expensive option.

It is typically wayyyy cheaper to park at an offsit airport parking place than get a hired car.  I live 25 min from EWR  and it's and $80 one way fare for A1 Limo 609-951-0070.  I think they have really great service, but I can only justify paying $160 (roundtrip) if I am traveling for more than 7 days.... then it almost breaks even.  Avistar typically has coupons (google 'em) and I pay about $13 a day..

As an "experienced" airport traveler (hi, I'm writing this from Raleigh, North Carolina) I suggest if you typically run late - do a car service for peace of mind...  otherwise you may be tempted to say "the hell with it" when traveling to the airport and end up parking @ the airport or in short term parking (which is like $30 a day!)

I like to spend the least amount of time possible at the airport- so I am always running with little time to spare (my FI hatessss this, but he doesn't travel for work like I do)..

If you are flying out of LGA or JFK I suggest driving your butt there.. from Central NJ (New Brunswick area) to any of those airports it's about $170 (tip and tax incl) one way!

PHL is about $125 one way.

That's exactly what we were calculating yesterday.  I'm glad somany people have used off-site parking.  I've parked in the "economy" lot at Newark and it's so damn expensive.

Thanks everyone for the reviews.  I feel more secure leaving my car when I know others have used the same service.

I <3 Vista Parking. I always park there for short and long trips.

Here's the website I use that has a coupon (present it when you come back/pay)

If you are close to NJTransit... I like taking the train into the airport.  Pretty easy and you can leave your car at home.  You can always take a cheap taxi to the train too if car service is expensive.
