FMIL once said to me on the phone (dead serious) that she was going to look at the prom dresses that were on sale for the wedding (short waifish very wrinkled looks way older than 60)...FSIL just said she is going to stalk and make sure she hasn't bought anything (and if she did hide it if its bad) and go with her.

    That's a relief.  FI's grandmother was doing the same thing so FMIL stopped her.
