We are staying at the Hyatt in Maui as well. We will be doing the road to Hana and we are pretty adventurous and daring, so we will most likely be riding the road the whole way around the island rather than turning around in Hana and driving back. Was this a much longer route? From the map it looks a lot longer to drive back to the hotel that way. I really don't want to be driving on dangerous roads in the dark. Any advice is appreciated:)Thanks Lauren

The return trip takes about two hours . The worst part is the first ten miles, the roads are so bad you can't really go above 15 - 20 mph max. I recommend renting a jeep, your convert. Was not really cut out for the rough roads. I would leave the hyatt at seven latest to beat the rush. Try to start the return loop by four latest and follow someone if at all possible. When we went there were no other cars in sight the whole way. If you saw my pix you will get an idea of what to expect
