Pre-Cana in Newark Archdiocese

Is anyone going to Pre-Cana (Archdiocese of Newark) in the coming months? We have to register for a date before our April wedding - we want an all-day Saturday session, and we can't do Aug. 25 in Newark because we'll be on vacation. Here's the list, in the first dropdown menu: http://precana.rcan.org/registration/RegistrationWizard.aspxJust wondering if anyone can recommend any of these churches, since I'm unfamiliar with all of them. I'd rather ask you folks for personal experiences before I just pick one at random. Thanks!

Hey - We're doing ours on Sunday, October 25th at St. Mary's in Pompton Lakes, it's $75 for the day and includes breakfast and lunch and it's from 8-4:30 if that helps at all.

We went to the one in Linden which was help in one of the shools in linden. It was a whole day event on saturday we got there at 10am but didn't start till 11:30. We had really good speakers and enjoyed the few hrs we were there. Fortunately we had a winter storm warning so they let us out at 2pm after lunch. HTH

I am going to the October 17th one at St. Theresa's Church in Kenilworth -- it's easy to find and a very nice church (it is my friend's parish)...runs either 10-6:30 or 10:30-6.  I just registered for it yesterday so I have to go back and check. We wanted to make sure that we go out Precana over with before the Thanksgiving/Christmas holiday begin.  It'll get too busy and too crazy.

How involved are the parish priests in Pre-Cana? I know the married couples lead it (my parents actually do this at our church) but do the priests play a large role? There's one that's really close to us, but I'm not fond of the parish priest there and if he's involved with the day then I know it's probably going to be an unpleasant experience. So I'd rather go somewhere else with a nicer priest, if the priests are heavily involved.

I actually have a related question with pre-cana. I am getting married at St. Michaels in Union but I am using a family friend as the priest. My fiance lives across the country, how do they suppose I do pre-cana? Has anyone been in this situation before? Is Pre-cana just one day? help haha
