Mexico HMers

Where in Mexico did/are you going? And where did you stay?We were all set on going to the Caymans but we heard a couple of disappointing reviews so we're trying to explore some other options.

We're going to Excellence Playa Mujeres, can't wait. It gets pretty good reviews on trip advisor. Some complaints about the sea grass, I think it's better or worse depending on the weather, doesn't bother us. There are too many pools for us to worry about the beach. Some people complain about the food, but I think some people just like to complain. What I like most about it is the room we're getting (in my opinion) is better than the honeymoon suite. Two story rooftop terrace suite with ocean view. It's not a big party scene, but we're not big party people. The forums on trip advisor or really great, they've helped me more than the reviews.

That's where we're going, Bella!  We're hearing NOTHING but wonderful things about the place.  We've been to the Excellence in Dominican Republic and were blown away by it!  We're expecting the same to happen here. Leaving on Tuesday...can't wait! :)

I second NMoscoe. We're going to Excellence Playa Mujeres in three weeks and the private rooftop pool/terrace sold us!

Seabass - there are a ton of pictures on trip advisor. This one person in particular, flip flop man, he's a wealth of knowledge for EPM. He recently went, uploaded I think over 300 pictures. He's great, he takes pictures of each building, and their views, so you know exactly what you're getting. I've been stalking the website (almost as much as the knot!) for a while now, if you have any questions, let me know.

Thank you! I like that all of the rooms are the same, except for the imperial & honeymoon suites. I don't feel like we're missing out. What makes the differences in the rooms are the location, the view, and if you have the rooftop terrace. BTW, that hydrospa pool is not heated. I've read a lot of reviews that if you don't plan on using it, like if you're going in the winter time (where it's still warm there, but not enough to go in a cold pool, if you prefer warmer water), some people say there's no point to it. Also with the excellence club, a lot of the things you get are no big deal, except the view. I want a good view, and I want to use the rooftop terrace, so we're doing that. A little while ago someone on our board was asking if she should do a shorter stay in the honeymoon suite vs a longer stay in a rooftop terrace, for me there's no question. How much time are you going to spend in your room, anyway? They all have nice beds, big tvs, couches, awesome showers, and a jacuzzi in the room. A jacuzzi in the room! I love that. Sure, part of a bathtub would be nice, but I like that this is separate, and has a window that opens up to outside. At first I wanted to go to Secrets, I forget which one, because the honeymoon suite had a hot tub on the terrace/porch/balcony/whatever it's called, lol. EPM just beat it out with all they offer. Glad you enjoyed the pictures!

We went to Excellence Playa Mujeres. Review and pics in planning bio. Just be careful with those rooftop rooms. Most of the rooftops don't have any privacy. I could have jumped from our balcony onto the rooftops. And I could see into about 8 of them. No one used it because everyone could see you....but just keep in mind that I said most, not all.
