Regristries post-shower, pre-wedding

Question -- did you guys leave your registries as is after your shower, or did you delete off the stuff that got purchased? Did you remove items in hopes that people wouldn't buy you stuff from it for the wedding, or did you add things on so that people had options to buy you gifts? TIA

I had to add on random things at higher price points because people were upset nothing was left on it to buy that was "wedding appropriate".

maybe flameworthy but i deleted everything under $50, i didn't want anyone buying me mixing pots and stuff like that for the actual wedding.

I didn't delete anything off but added a few things after the shower. I figured there are people who would rather give you a gift that money for the wedding.

If things were purchased outside of the registry for the shower (and they were on my registry), I did adjust quantities.  But, I had enough stuff left from the shower that people who wanted to give a gift for the wedding could.  People get cranky if forced to give cash and didn't want to.

Einat, that is actually a good idea (no flames from me!). I almost wish I would have thought about that.  We got a few of those items as wedding gifts, and it was from DH's family from Virginia, so their gift giving standards are a bit off from ours.

I was going to leave mine as-is, but Einat, you have a good idea.  My shower was just this past Sunday so I'll leave it for now but a few weeks before the wedding I'll clean it up a bit and remove stuff we could easily get ourselves, or aren't good as wedding gifts.  Nothing wrong with that.  :-)

I left it as-is. Most people gave money anyway, but some gave gifts; none were really crappy except one we didn't even register for. And we had our registry at BB&B, so as people bought things they were shown as "purchased" on the registry anyway, so we didn't get duplicates.
