The Venetian or Valley Regency????

Hi Fellow Knotties: I am trying to finalize the venue for my reception and its a toss up between the venetian and the valley regency. While I feel the venetian's ballroom (palazzo) is second to none....I have never been to an event there and being that they do not offer tastings...I am not sure what to do. the valley regency which is a nice venue seems to offer me more value for my dollar and they offer a tasting. i am not sure what to do. i would love to hear your thoughts.....

I'm probably biased since our wedding is at the Venetian (palazzo) .. but I've heard nothing but good things from anyone that has been to the Venetian (and there have been many from both on the boards and in real life), both before and after the renovations.  I've had a small and informal tasting - when we booked, they were prepping for a wedding and they offered us a few appetizers....delicious!

I vote for the Venetian.  The food can't be beat!  FI and I looked at the Valley Regency and were disturbed by the stained carpets and lack of character.

I went to a wedding at the Venetian 2 years ago and it was fantastic!  The cocktail hour and dessert hour are absolustely amazing.  There is a ton of food and it was all so incredibly good.  I felt that the dinner food was only ok, but I would still recommend it.  The staff was great (DH was never without a drink and never had to get up to go to the bar once all night) and the place was beautiful.  I have never been to the Valley Regency, but I would say that you can't go wrong with the Venetian.

I may sound biased as well, but I just had my wedding at the Venetian 3 weeks ago (not the new ballroom, but still AMAZING)The food and service are OUTSTANDING- you really can't beat it! If you want anymore information, email me at misskris927@aol.com. You definitely get what you pay for at the Venetian.

Wow guys....thanks for all of your helpful comments. This will surely help me to decide.

Not sure when you want to decide by but since no one had much to say about Valley Regency I will be going to my cousin's wedding there this month (not for 3 weeks though).  So far everything sounds great and they are super excited about getting married there.  They had a great tasting too.  If you have some time feel free to email me at amy232323@aol.com for info in a few weeks.

Thanks Amy. We have to make a decision this week. Hopefully by today. We visited both places one last time yesterday. While the Venetian is out of this world....the valley regency seems to offer great value. they (VR) are suppose to replace the carpet in the cocktail area I beleive this month. it seems very nice. the Venetian's ballroom however, blows me away. however there a pretty lil price tag that comes along with it.

I was at the Venetian yesterday too! I am biased because I am getting married there, but I vote for the Palazzo room at the Venetian. I have never been to an event there either, but I have never heard a negative review.

This probably won't help much...as I'm basically going to reiterate what all the pp said...Never been to Valley Regency, but from what I saw on the website it's beautiful.  I have been to many, many events, weddings, Christenings, work-related parties at the Venetian and the food is amazing.  Same owners as Seasons.  Both are known for their insanely good food.

Just to weight on on the Vallet Regency, I am getting married there next weekend.  I have loved everything so far.  They gave us a great price and added in a lot of extras when we picked our menu because we were so far over the min.  They have been really great to work with and I just love the outside garden area.  Also, my super picky mother thought the place was astonished at how spotless it was when we first visited.

Another vote for the Venetian. We wanted the Palazzo room but they seemed to be mostly booked up for summer 2010. We opted for the other ballroom and are extremely excited for our wedding. We have been to numerous weddings and functions at the Venetian and it was always amazing. I heard a rumor they are going to renovate the other ballroom a bit too which is very exciting!! Never been to the VR but have not heard bad things from people who have went. I think you have two good venues to choose from.

We are getting married at the VR next month. We love it, the food the ball room, everything. We have been to 2 weddings at the Venitian and they were great as well, we still chose the VR they offered so much more for the $. Both places are great though.....

I can't compare thet two because i've never been to The Venetian but I can tell you that we absolutely LOVED The Valley Regency. We had our wedding there last September and we were so happy we did. The service was outstanding and the food was delicious. The main ballroom is so beautiful and big. It never felt like people were on top of one another. All my guests raved about it. And the cocktail hour is definitely out of this world!

We're also getting married at The Venetian (not the Palazzo room). I attended a wedding there a few years back and ever since then had my heart set on it. I have never ever ever seen anything like The Venetian cocktail hour before. Amazing!!

I'm not sure you still need advice or not, but I have to say while the Venetian was nice, if you are getting married there the room for the ceremony was disgusting and smelled musty.  I went with the Valley Regency because is more bang for your buck and the outside patio is beautiful.  And they are replacing the rugs because they came in defective.
