FI and I just sat down to discuss how much money we need and have, its the first time in a LONG time I've done the math and I started to feel my heart going a mile a minute!  Its still around our budget but putting it together again really got me lol.

oh damn, I'm gonna have to send someone else to do my final payment lol.  FI is so calm with it, has no problem, mean while I'm sitting here trying to do numbers yelling "I NEED MY BOOK MY BOOKS AT WORK WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME" lol, he then poured me a glass of wine

Oh definitely Jen, we've had too much talk about having wine separately! Nicole, what type of tutoring, how about algebraic modeling or accounting for FI, I've tried on the accounting (so has mom and sis we all have backgrounds in it) and he doesn't get it, I need him to have enough credits to transfer!

oh yes allllllll the time. every time i look to book something. or when someone on my club board says -"can you believe that venue charges $36 pp?!" i'm like uuuuh i wish I had that price! FI doesn't register that this is costing a boat load. He has said okay to the things I've asked for thus far, but we haven't had the sit down, ok this is our total yet. yikes.

It's funny Jaime FI is sort of the same way, he finally gave into GOBO and today I said "if we can't talk them down a bit then we don't get it" and he just looked at me like I had 10 heads lol.

OMG, there came a point where I kinda sorta let the budget go out the window (bad idea...)We were able to keep things within reason for us, but I just looked at my spreadsheet from the wedding and the total including the HM (hotel/airfare...nevermind meals.  lol) and almost fell over.  LOL.

We ended up more than double our original budget. In the end we did it "our" way and I feel it def worth it. Don't get in over your head though, def not worth going into debt over.

ha ha...Fi and I sit down once a month, with a glass (or bottle) of wine and talk about the wedding, what is going on and the money aspect of it.  Sometimes, when I look at how much we are spending, I start to get short of breath.  I am sure as it gets closer I will start feeling that way more and more.

no we purposefully have a long engagement so we can save money for the wedding, we are each putting $200  a paycheck into a joint checking account for the wedding.  And next year we are going to up the amount per paycheck when we see if we are on track to pay everything off before the wedding.

Our engagement will be 21 months by the wedding, but with a mortgage, car payments, and all the other crap sure as hell is not easy!

Thank god I have a very "giving" family... so all the costs are spread out amongst relatives and FI and I, so its not as overwhelming.

I'm already having palpitations for next month's payment, which is the 3rd of 4 payments.  At least I'll have 6 months to save for the 4th payment, but I saved long and hard for the first three.  I'll be anxious and nervous when it comes to saving more $ for all the other little things.
