Monogram question

This might be a stupid question but....in a 3 letter monogram I know the last name initial goes in the middle, but does it matter if the bride or grooms initial goes first?

Usually it's the bride's initial on the left. If your names will be Bride and Groom Jones, the monogram would be bJg.

Usually it's the bride on the left but it doesn't really matter. Our initials are j and c and to stay away from doing JC (jesus christ) I'm doing it backwards. It's not proper, but I think it looks better.

ditto mb, it should go his - last name - yours...  since a monogram by definition is just a symbol, you can have anything you like, but personally, i think you'd get some strange looks if you had it backwards knowing that the majority have his-last-yours.
