what beach should i go to?

i'm not a "DTS" girl... we stayed in cape may every summer growing up.  where can i go that is ideally not hours away (i am north of bergen co.) and totally sketchy?  (ie never been a fan of sandy hook and belmar is too high schooll/collegy from what i remember).  manasquan?  pt pleasant?  looking to go tomorrow!  THANKS!!

Spring Lake is beautiful!!!

Manasquan, Spring Lake.  If you drive a little further, you may want to try Island Beach State Park, exit 82

Normandy Beach, the beaches are never over crowded and there are some cute little places to eat. Labrador Lounge and Pop's Garage are my faves. My sisters and I love it there.

Point, manasquan, seven presidents (long branch) is my new fav. As a shore resident I never go to the following Belmar, sandy hook, seaside or point I go to sea bright avon by the sea seven presidents or if I'm in the mood for the drive lbi

Definitely Spring Lake!  I'm not a DTS girl at all either, but I really like it.  Very cute town.

Spring Lake is very cute.  Nice, quieter beaches, cute little town.  Exit 98 off the parkway (same way you would get to Belmar) just a few towns south of Belmar.

What does DTS stand for?Anyhow, the closest decent beach is probably seabright, but it's rocky with no sandbar so you get shore breakers only = boring.I'd go to belmar, or point pleasant....at least point has the boardwalk for stuff to do afterwards.  I don't think you have to worry about crowds during the week.

User those two are crowded all the time bleh Long branch is good for the shops and pier village but the cost of dining is high, I love it though lol

haha love that user whips out the live feed... i forgot that my friend has a lake house in Lake Hopatcong so we might check that out.  but i really want the ocean   i'll see if i can convince her otherwise!
