Brazilian Blowout

Anyone ever have this done?  its a semi-perm straightening treatment - supposedly less damaging (though not as permanent) as the japanese treatment.  I am getting married next July and I really prefer my hair straight to its normal blonde fro.

Its a lot less damaging to your hair. It pretty much take the frizz out of your hair. It does not straighten your hair. You still be able to scrunch your hair. It will make your hair much more managable. I highly recomend it.

Someone I bowl with got this done.  She normally has very frizzy hair.  But after she had it done, her hair looked so smooth and shiny, and I didn't notice any frizz.  She was extremely happy with the results and you could definitely notice the difference.  It actually made me interested in getting it done since I have frizzy hair (just the smallest amount of humidity or a little bit of water just poofs it out!)

Just keep in mind that it only lasts about 4 months so you have to do it more frequently than the japanese straightening.

You have to also buy special shampoo after you get it done (I'm not sure what the shampoo needs or doesn't need to have but a good hairstylist would know)....otherwise, it washes out too quickly. A co-worker recently got it done and it washed out in around a month.,

Thanks ladies.  Apparently they recommend sulfate free shampoo, which is fine since I already use one (Wen - works awesome on curly hair).

Is this different than keratin treatments? I am considering getting that done. Supposedly it makes your hair healthier rather than damages it.
