I know im totally butting in but I feel just like the rest of you. I really hope Mary is doing ok. I know she is going through a whole lot right now but I will continue to pray for her family. I read the article and it broke my heart. I know Andrew is taking good care of her though so atleast she has someone to lean on during this rough time.

Thanks guys.  We have a long road ahead of us, keep those thoughts and prayers coming.

I'm doing OK.  Andrew is taking good care of me.  I'm just worried about my dad.  His sister and brother live very close by, but I'm 1.5 hours away, I know it's not very very far but I wish I could be there with him.

If you're interested, there's another (I think better) newspaper article.  One that doesn't make it sound like mom went under the SUV and caught on fire (she didn't, that was just her motorcycle).  Link

Also...just be aware of what's around you out there on the road.  The weather's so nice, there are a lot of motorcycles out there right now.  The girl never even saw my mom before she turned, and it was so fast that Mom didn't even have a chance to hit her brakes.  This was not a case of a biker flying down the interstate weaving in and out of cars. 

Just look twice, be aware.

I can't imagine what the girl driving the SUV must be feeling.  She's just 17.

Mary, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.  I really hate that you have to go through this, and I hate to learn about this crash that was preventable.  Prayers also to the woman that caused the crash.  She will have to live with this for the rest of her life.  I send my condolences to you, and if you need anything, please let me know.  If you ever want to meet up for lunch to get out of the office, just let me know, too.  I'm not too far away.  If you don't mind, I would like to add your family to my church's prayer list.  I understand if you do not wish to be added though. 

You are so right about being aware of your surroundings.  We must share the road with motorcyclists, bicyclists, and peds even if they are annoying at times.

Thats off a bumpersticker my parents have in memory of a motorcyclist.
