I need a...

quick remedy to get rid of a pimple. I went for a facial on Wednesday with my mother, and I think the girl aggravated a small pimple that I had, and now it's huge, ugly and annoying. I need to get rid of it, or significantly reduce it since my wedding is on Friday. Any of you ladies have any quick home remedies for it? Thank you!

toothpaste will dry it out.... those clearasil sticks (not sure if they still sell them) have always worked for me!  Worst comes to worst, call the dermatologist and get a prescription.

Thank you! I tried the toothpaste, and I've even used salt and then covered that with toothpaste. I've been told that salt also helps dry it out and clean it. It's gotten a lot worse and more visible throughout the day and now I'm flipping out. I'm on the hunt for rubbing alcohol now. I'm kind of intrigued by that.

ahh.. you should never get a facial right before your wedding-- they make you break out usually. Anyway, to fix the problem at hand I would agree with toothpaste- it dries it out. Dot a little on, let it dry, and wear it over night. You should be good by your wedding day!

DMLJ, I knew better to get the facial, but my mother is having a hard time with the wedding -- I'm the youngest of 5 and her "baby" is getting married. When I tried saying no, I could see how upset my mother was, so I ended up saying yes just to make her happy.... and now regretting it a lot.

aww... well just do toothpaste, every night... I wouldn't do salt- that sounds irritating! And try not to pick it! Are you have a make-up artisit for your wedding?? They should be able to cover up any redness.

Toothpaste works! Visine works too!! Put it on a Q-tip and chill it, then apply... be careful with the rubbing alcohol... that tends to leave you with very dry skin and he skin will look cracked. good luck!

http://www.cleanandclear.com/productDetail.do?productid=50Clean & Clear Persa-Gel; buy it at any drug store.I swear by this stuff. Put a very small amount on the blemish and rub it in. Once in the morning after you wash your face (before moisturizer) and then again at night before you go to bed. It will dry it right up in 1-2 days.HTH!

I second rubbing alcohol. I use it to clean my whole face bc I have very oily skin. But definitely moisturiZe after.

Rubbing alcohol works fantastically.  I break out on the back of my shoulders a lot and if I put rubbing alcohol on any breakouts once or twice a day, they are gone withon two days...

I just read that windex was in the movie my big fat greek wedding...Fact is this, even though that windex contains some of the same active products that acne meds contain, it does NOT contain the inactives that help to avoid irritation, do not use it.Working for a chemical company that deals with personal care, health care, and industrial I have learned one thing, we have a product that is in major acne meds, but that product is also in industrial products, they are way different active % it is NOT a good idea.

I 2nd visine, haven't tried it, but read that the freezing it on a q-tip will reduce the swelling, and the visine part will 'get the red out'

Go to a dermatologist and get a cortisone shot.  I wouldn't take any risks with the wedding so close.

I just read in a magazine about making a paste with aspirin and water.  Worth a shot! Lisa Beth
