I don't know if it's cheesy and I did put on my registry lol. I registered for a beer dispenser that looks like a gas pump. As soon as I saw it, I knew who gave it to me.

I did do it as a joke. I didn't think I would actually get it. It still hasn't been used.

I wasn't shocked by the friends that didnt give. There were only 2 and I know they don't have any money and I don't want their money. But a card would have been nice. lol A few of my husbands friends who came empty handed.....shocking. And family of his...aunts and uncles....shocking to me. Although we did get gifts a few weeks ago 7 months later so you never know.

Dana - $5 per person - I think that is worse than getting nothing - at least that way you could tell yourself they forgot- Renee - What did people send you 7 months out and what did their card say?

One was from MH friend and he jokingly said this is the earliest he got a wedding gift out. lol But we had others who emailed MH and said wow that was a nice wedding and must have cost Renee's family a lot of money. What should I get you? No joke. lol

My culprit was the MIL of my aunt. She is old, alone and subsequently invited to EVERYTHING even though I have no relation to her. Not shocked at all. She is cheap and notorious for these kinds of things.

The people who gave me the odd, tropical plate (and a large Hershey Kiss with a printed "Congratulations, Jamie & Ken!" paper attached)  are the children (son & his wife) of longtime friends of the family.I've known the son & parents 30 yrs.I would have expected something non-traditional or comical but not... hideous. The plate is hideous, not comical.

The rock and picture (grand total of like $15 spent) was from DH's uncle who literally grew up in the same house as him and now lives next door to DH's parents.  I was definitely shocked, but I would say I was more shocked that they declined even coming to the wedding with some bogus "we can't get a babysitter" reason, especially when he originally said he was going to come to the wedding without his wife because of the baby and then they both decided to not come.I didn't get a gift from my cousin or one of my BMs.  I think there was one or two more on the other side but I don't know them.  My cousin I was surprised and to this day I think it might be some sort of mistake.  She has no excuse and she gave my brother a gift a few months before me.My BM I'm not really surprised, although given the way she typically is, I would have expected some sort of card that said all sorts of things (this is my high school best friend and we always gave each other funny cards and wrote a lot in them).  At my wedding she said my shower gift was in the mail and then after the wedding she said my wedding gift was coming. I never received either. She is definitely broke as a joke though.

I guess I shouldn't expect much from people then at the shower/wedding.
