Looking for a day spa near Red Bank...

Hi ladies!  I'm looking to buy a gift cert for one of my girlfriends in or around Red Bank.  In my searches for reviewed spas on yelp.com (there wasn't a lot) I found the following: Orange Skye   Aquamedica Salon and Day Spa   Ocean Place Resort & Spa   Sebastian's Hair-Em & Day Spa  Avanti Salon and SpaIf you've got any other advice (or places to avoid!) please let me know.  I appreciate it!Jenn

Avanit is excellent, but Manalapan is about 25 mins from Red Bank   Aquamedica is great too, but Avanti is better, imo   What about Milagro?

I love Milagro.  I go to the one in Wall but if the one in Red Bank is similar your girls should love it.

Thanks for replying!  I read one not-so-great review about Milagro, but it was also the only review they had.  Have you been there?  I'm hoping to spend $100 total, so I'll do some additional research about how much these services cost (someone gave me a $75 gift cert for a spa, but the facials were $105) as well.  Avanti looked so fancy, when I saw the pictures of it, I actually laughed.  But in a good way. I appreciate any and all good/bad feedback on these places, I don't want to give a dud gift. Thanks again!

I have had my hair done at Milagro a lot... it was great, but yes, expensive. Avanti isn't fancy--just high end. However, they dont make you feel uncomfortable there at all.

When I went I did the 30 minute massage and the 30 minute facial.  it was fabulous.  A little higher than you were looking to spend. I think they were $60 or so each treatment.   I think that their prices are maybe a little higher then the other places I have looked at but not obnoxiously high.  I have gone for massages another 3 times as well and all of the therapists are great.  I highly recommend it.

I love Milagro (at the Atlantic Club in Red Bank) it is soooo relaxing there. I would also recommend AquaMedica.

I actually disagree with pp's about Avanti, I used to get my hair done there (for about 2 years, including the time when they burnt down and were working out of another salon down the road), and I actually did not like the people there.  I thought they just couldn't be bothered to deal with me, and I never understood why, and started to get very uncomfortable there. The only reason why I went there for so long is that the person who was doing my hair did a really good job, but when he got a point when he looked bored to tears doing my hair and was always looking around to see if there was any better "action" going on in the salon, I stopped going there.  If I am going to spend that kind of money to get my hair cut (after tips, it was around $100 each time I went in there), I want to be treated better.

Future Mrs. Rickels...are you talking about Milagro or Avanti?  I'm looking at prices, and Avanti is probably a bit more than I can afford to spend (I don't want to buy a gift cert that would have her shelling out another $50-$100).  Boo, because it looked pretty awesome. It seems like Sebastians and Orange Skye gift certs will go the furthest in terms of options (I guess I should have done the price searches *before* posting this message).Unless you've heard any horror stories about either of those places, I think that's where I'm headed.  Also, what's up with Spas having all sorts of deals but only for clients without gift certificates.  Business is business, I thought!  Ladies, you've been such a great help--keep it coming if you've got more to say!  I trust you.  :)Jenn

I am taking about milagro.  For a mini massage and mini facial it was like $120-$130.  Well worth it though.  The other places on your list I havent gone to.  I am a milagro girl.

I can't speak for the ones you suggested but I get my nails done at Milagro Spa and I have always been happy with the service (but then again it might just be my girl who does great nail work). I know people who have gotten their hair done there and they always come out looking great. Prices are definitely on the expensive side but I think it's worth it.

I don't doubt that it's worth it to spend money on my wonderful friend.  However, as a single girl with a limited amount disposable income, I need a "more bang for my buck" spa.  Of course I don't want to send her somewhere gross and/or unclean, but unfortunately, the sky is way above my limit.  :(Thanks for all of your wonderful ideas!

Hi kathymarie, I looked on the spafinder site, but couldn't find much info on how those worked.  Are they valid at any area salon, or only ones that participate?  Sorry I'm such a bonehead about this stuff, you'd think it would be easier!  Jenn

Thanks, I'm going to give that a try!  What a terrific help you've been, thank you for taking the time to write your opinions (sometimes you ask people a question it just disappears into the void).  :)  Jenn

i agree with kathy - the spafinder.com certificate may be the best.  i received one and it was great, the spa took it now problem. i have been to aquamedica a bunch of times and love it.  ocean place is also really nice.  i have been to sebastian's for nails and waxing but to me it isn't on the same level as the others.
