Mr. C's in Allenhurst / Waterwitch Club in Highlands

Hi All - Has anyone had their wedding, or been a guest at a wedding at Mr. C's at the Allenhurst Beach Club? I'm interesting in finding a more casual, less expected, beach or marina location for my wedding next year, and I loved the setup when I went for cocktails. Their site has limited pictures of their weddings, since they are mainly a beach club restaurant, and Mr. C was not exactly accommodating when I called him to ask a few basic questions. Any feedback? Any other interesting ideas in the Northern Monmouth area? Has anybody attended a wedding at The Waterwitch Club in Highlands? - Thank You!

I haven't been to either but if Mr. C is not accommodating now when you are willing to give him wedding type of money I doubt he would be that accommodating once you have signed the contract and it is time for your wedding.

I have never been to Mr C's but I have some other suggestions for places to look as well.  i havent been to these 2 but I have heard of people having weddings at Seabra's Armory in Perth Amboy.  I think it overlooks the bay or beach.  And also Sea Gulls Nest in Sandy Hook.  I called them and they were super nice.  The guy was going to open the restaurant in the winter for me to come see it.  The sea gulls nest is def very beachy and not a traditional venue.

agree with caketime. FI's cousin had her reception at the Lobster Shanty in Pt Pleasant. It was very nice and it's right on the water.

I personally love Mr C's restaurant (I go there every so often)  I agree that Mr. C himself is not the easiest to deal with, but there are people there who specialize in special events. The place has a gorgeous picture view of the ocean from the bar.  The main entrance is sort of hamptons/shore chic.  The main dining room is dark woods, bamboo accents...kind of shore zen.  The food is fabulous, and I think you'd have a wonderful time there. Other suggestions for a shore casual wedding (all great food) Stella Marina (Asbury Park) Sirena (sister property in Pier Village) Moonstruck (Asbury Park)

i went to mr. c's when i first was looking for a venue.....and i agree not so accommodating. he even knew my co-worker's extremely well and still not so nice. that turned my off despite the beautiful place. i wound up chosing the lobster shanty in point pleasant, but that is not northern monmouth at all. have you checked out mcloone's in pier village in long branch or even mcloone's supper club in asbury? they are nice. the columns in avon is alo pretty but for a smaller wedding. good luck!
