BEWARE: Westminster Hotel in Livingston

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up about the HORRIBLE issues we've had with this hotel. We had 50 rooms blocked here for our October 17 wedding. 25 rooms were booked as of last week and they began to tell our guests that they are booked and have no rooms. I called to see what was going on, and they said we no longer have 50 room blocks, but instead 25 on Friday night and 25 on Saturday night. This was due to another wedding in the hotel that night, who were getting married in their ballroom. They gave that party 100 rooms blocked, took away from our room blocks and gave us no other options to fix the issue. They told us the other party had only 20 rooms blocked at the time, but refused to book rooms for our guests. They were rude, nasty and so unprofessional. I am lucky that I learned this now, instead of the night of my wedding. We have canceled all rooms and moved to the Short Hills Hilton. It's a huge inconvience, after just sending my invitations out with all the hotel info printed. But they have been very understanding and great to work with so far!! Sorryyy for the long post... but just wanted to assure that everyone knew how horrible this hotel was! :)

    That is incredible, how could they just take away from the rooms you've blocked without even telling you.  Good for you for moving and I hope they get way screwed out of 25 plus rooms.

    We called to cancel all the rooms and still no sign of caring. We would have filled the 50 rooms we had originally blocked... there loss!!

    You think in this economy they would bend over backwards for this many rooms...

    That's awful, you should write a letter to someone higher up. Didn't you have a contract? Did you try to go to a manager?

    For what it may be worth - write a letter or email to someone higher up We had a big problem with our hotel that we used...I wrote an email explaining every last detail of every issue I had...a week later I got a call from the management apologizing up the wazoo and they offered us 2 nights stay in the suite dinner on them anywhere in the surrounding area with their car service to take us there and back free drinks in the hotel bar when we get back, we actually couldn't take them up on the 2 nights but are doing one night next Saturday. It was a nice consolation considering there was really nothing they could do to fix what had already happened.
