Buttonwood Manor - Matawan

Any thoughts? This weekend I'll be checking out places in that area. Has anyone been there? Or other places that they could recommend in that vicinity?

What's your budget like and how many people? There's a few places in Matawan, Cliffwood, Aberdeen area with all different price ranges.   Are you looking for a big ball-room type place or something like a catering hall?

def. modest budget. lol. we're planning about 80 guests or so. I just want a place that is nice, and is not too costly.

In Matawan they have Piazza Di Roma, The Reception Center at St. Celements, Grand Marquis in old bridge.  I know Matawan also has Bart's Cuisine. They are a relatively small place and looks decently priced. Might be good for your 80 ppl.

I've never been inside but I live in the area & I've driven by a few times.  From the outside it looks really pretty to me.  Good luck!

I haven't heard good things, a girl I work with just went there and she is having a very small simple wedding brunch type thing, she said when she walked in the hallway smelled really bad, and it seemed like a major wedding factory.  I also have not heard good things about weddings there at all from other people who have been guests.I am with jrsygirl check out the places one of the knotties got married at st clements and had nothing but amazing things to say about it.If you feel like going up a little further, I am getting married in Freehold at the Crystal Balroom at the Radisson and so far have a great experience, Kathymarie just got married there in July too.

We went to look there. It wasn't bad but are going with Ria Mar in South River - yes it's only one room but for the price we're getting so much more and don't have to put the dinner choice on the response card.I only ate at Buttonwood for a shower so can't really say but it wasn't bad.

If you were asking about a wedding 5 years ago, yes I would recommend them. Now, no. They've switched owners and the food and service have really gone downhill. The Buttonwood Manor was always the go-to place for my family's events and now it isn't even a consideration.
