Invitation for priest?

Am I supposed to send him one? It's not my local church.  But it is my Grandmother's.  She goes quite often, almost every day.

I say no, he knows he has to be there. Are you inviting him to the reception? I honestly don't see the need for it.

ok...maybe I'll ask my Grandma and see what she says. I'll be home and meeting with him in two weeks anyways...so I can always invite him then.  Even hand him an invitation if need be.

i sent an invite to the rector of the church because he is a close friend of my Uncle who was the person who actually married us. Unfortunately the rector couldn't make it but he sent me a nice note about it.

I think it depends on how well you know them. We're going to send one to our Reverend but he's pretty much family and would be invited whether he was doing our ceremony or not.

I sent the priest an invite.  He need to decline because of his Mass schedule but appreciated it. If you have extra invites it really doesn't hurt.  Whether its verbally or by paper invite I think it is proper to invite him to the reception if guest count is not an issue

we mailed our preist an invitation.  he declined, but did attend the rehersal dinner and did the blessing.
