Would you recommend the Betwood in Totowa

A friend of mind is thinking of booking the Bethwood in Totowa as her wedding venue. Has anyone had their wedding or been to a wedding recently? Is this a good place? What are the positives and negatives of the Bethwood. TIAMichelle

hey! im here!   Thanks jen!Ok yes i had my wedding at the bethwood on august 8 - let me tell you it was perfect! and i have OCD so i made sure everything was exactly how i wanted it! The staff there is unbelievable! Everytime i went there for something, everyone knew my name and they were all so helpful and gave me some great ideas on decorating...I dont know why the bethwood is looked down upon on the knot but im trying to turn that around.  The food was great, cocktail hour was insanely good! People are still talking about it! I have pics if you or ur friend want to see ...they have been in business for 30+ years and they have their act together! the entire wedding went flawless!Ok so they have 8 rooms and yes can hold more than wedding..This is NOT a problem! There were 2 other weddings going on when i got married there - i had my wedding outside on the garden and used both lawns to take pics on before and after the ceremony, and were outside at night smoking cigars...i did not see any other bride! They have everything so organized its amazing! it is a wedding factory and they can have up to like 7 weddings at a time, and only have 2 outdoor picture spots, we asked them how they keep the parties seperate and what happens if we want to take pics but another couple is taking too long.....  He said it usually works, out, I dont think so I am not worrying about fighing for picture spots with someone I dont know. Also I didnt like any of the rooms, the cocktail rooms were too small, but I think the bridal rooms were large if I remember correctly. To answer your question, no, I wouldnt recommend the Bethwood to anyone.

we used the cocktail hour room downstairs and it fit 120ppl comfortably..i didnt use the lounge on the side of the room...and not for nothing, 2 of my friends got married at crystal springs resort - they paid an arm and a leg and it sucked! they dont know what they are doing when it comes to weddings...nothing was set up as they wanted it and they forgot to put some stuff out...so just b/c a place only caters to weddings, doesnt mean they stink - its cuz they know what they are doing...so dont always judge - it can swing both ways....

The reason why most people DON'T like the Bethwood is because of the food. It's never been that great and it something that I constantly hear people mention when they talk about the Bethwood.I've tasted the food, and I concur. On that note alone, I wouldn't recommend it.

Been there, and personally, I would never have my reception there. But to each is own. If it fits your friend's budget, done a food tasting and it still suits their liking then to heck with my opinion

if budget was the issue, I would tell her to check out empire club, they are about the same price, but only 1 wedding at a time.  I have heard bad things about the bethwood's food, I havent heard anything bad about empire club except the location
