LCN Nails - question

I got LCN nails put on 2 weeks and 1 day ago and today 1 nail broke off and the rest look really shotty (they are lifting and just look really bad).  Is this to be expected since it's been 2 weeks and a day, or should I look for another nail place?Timing really sucks too b/c I was trying to stretch it to 3 weeks and get them filled the day before the wedding, but they all desperately need to be redone now, which means I'm forced to get them filled 6 days before the wedding which is too soon! anyone have any advice on this one?

mine lifted anywhere from 1.5-2 weeks. However, I also work in healthcare and am constantly washing my hands/changing gloves etc. They lookd great INITALLY. I ended up taking them off after about 2 months. It was $ that was being "wasted" and just a headache for me. I did silk wraps the day before the wedding.

just out of curiousity, did the product smell and did it involve powder? I've heard of places using the fake "LCN" products. It should not smell at all and it should be ALL gel. My LCN's usually last about 3 weeks, but everyone's nails are different. My nails start to curl, so that's why LCN's don't last longer than 3 weeks for me. My girl is on vaca til the end of the month and she recently left her salon so I don't even know where she'll be working from when she gets back from vaca.

Definitely not to be expected. I get my nails (LCN) done every 4 weeks and I never have any lifting. Make sure you are getting real LCN, as pp said. A lot of places pretend they have LCN, but they are using the fake kind. Also, make sure you are going to someone well experienced in LCN. I have had LCN on for about 5 years, and can't imagine not having it. I absolutely love it, but its because the woman I go to is really good. Let me know if you need a rec.

I don't have that problem and get mine filled every 3 weeks or so. I agree with pp about different factors though. Linqdz-I'll take a rec. My place is good but I don't exactly love it. TIA!

I get mine done at Colts Neck Salon & Day Spa (formerly Ginger's) and have never had anything like that. My crusty hands are currently on 4 weeks and not one trace of of lifting.

What is LCN?  I have tried gel / acrylic nails / silk wraps in the past and I always had the same problem as the poster.  After 1.5 weeks, they would start to look kinda crappy and I got tired of the time committment.   I have terrible nails though - they won't grow without breaking.

I get mine filled every 4 weeks.  I go to a place in Green Brook if you are interested - email me jules1325 at hotmail dot com.  they're really good and i think reasonably priced.
