Good Morning! and...Opinions on adding orchids

in champagne toast. WDYT?Do you think it add to the initial presentation of table? Or would you think WTF is there a flower in my drink?Did anyone do this? Who set this up, if not the florist? My florist says we use orchids like off the stem but the ones I have seen at actual weddings were edible . I don't know that orchids found in CP's are edible. Any take on this?TIA!

I think all orchids are edible. I wouldn't really think anything of it I would just take it out and drink it. But honestly it wouldn't do anything for me and wouldn't be worth it. A strawberry is enough for me.

Ditto dana, our venue puts orchids for presentation on our plates, I wouldn't think anything of it in the drink, just to take it out

Ditto pp. I'd rather a strawberry or raspberry in my champagne.

    I wouldn't put it in...as a guest I wouldn't like a flower in my drink.

It would look nice, but I would be confused if I saw it. I wouldn't know it's edible and probably be a little grossed out.

I don't think its necessary but if it is something you want to add then go ahead. I would take mine out. I know they are edible but it doesn't do anything for me having flowers in drinks.

JUST SAY NO to the orchid in your glass.  I would definitely think WTF, why is there an orchid in my glass?  Who wants to fish out a flower before sipping? If you want orchids, I suggest putting them in your CP or on the table.  I hate it when catering halls put strawberries or flowers in my champagne too.  Fine restaurants never do it and neither should catering halls.

I wouldn't like it, like pp I would much prefer a strawberry. Also how long will they be sitting in the champagne before it's served? It might start to wilt after a while right? Either way I'm sure the reception hall would add the flowers to the drinks as long as the florist dropped off a box of them. No need for the florist to stick around for that.
