I saw your post below about wanting a photobooth but it being expensive. What we're doing is having our photographer set up a photostation similar to what Kewltif and TeamAandE had done through S&R Photographers. (Last I looked S&R's website said $400 but when I contacted them they quoted me over $800 and said they increased their prices and hadn't had a chance to update their website yet) Our 2nd photographer will take pictures of people during CH and during the reception the pictures will be printed out and people can pick up their picture on their way out. It's not exactly the same thing as a photobooth but it's a similar concept. It's not something he's done in the past but I told him what we were looking for and he said he would do it for us no problem and he's going to charge us less than 1/2 the price of a photobooth. If you like that idea it may not hurt to ask your photographer if he could set something like that up for you. Also, I know other photographers also offer a similar set up, where they put up a screen and attach a camera to a remote and guests can take the picture themselves. Then the B&G get a CD of the pictures and cand distribute to everyone after the wedding. From what I've seen this is also usualy much less than a photobooth, but a similar concept.

Thanks! :) I really, really like the idea of the "boardwalk" photobooth, but this is a good idea as well. Plus setting it up in a corner of the room leaves more room for more people to get in the shot (instead of trying to cram 6 of my girlfriends into a little booth). I'll ask our photographer if he does this. I know he's bringing a second shooter for part of the day, so maybe she'd be willing to stay a little longer and do this for us. We'll see how much money we've got left near the end and then decide from there. In the meantime I'll keep an eye out for your pics - I'm sure they'll be awesome. Thanks again!

FWIW - I know you said you want a 'boardwalk style' photobooth...but we had a less traditional looking photobooth and it comfortably accommodated11 people and they've crammed 16 in it before, it was by far the BEST money I spent at the wedding. I cannot think of anything that the guests raved about more and still to this day people say 'blah blah your wedding was great and WOW that photobooth idea was awesome'...it was wellll worth the $1K no questions asked
