Reception ended at 11. We had it for the whole night so it was outside all the time. One of MH's older aunts left at like 9:30 and then the bus came back and waited. Most people left at 11:15. And then those on the second run waited until 11:45. It sounds bad that we waited 45 mins after the reception ended, but it ended up being a lot of fun waiting around.

My reception ended at I believe 11:30 we had our shuttle come back at 10:30 but he would wait till it was full before he would leave. Our hotel was 5 minutes away.

I don't know what I should do. Our reception ends at 1 a.m. I want to give people the option of leaving early since it's pretty late, but I do think most people will stay out since it's NYE.We have three 14-passenger shuttles and they can do two trips each. So if I have one that leaves the reception at 12:45 and the others at 1:15, then the first can circle back for 1:15, and the others do their second trip at 1:30?? Does that make sense?

That makes sense. Do you have a lot of older guests who might not want to stay out that late?

Hmm, not really. Maybe just 5-10. Right now only 2-3 of them are staying the hotel so far (so would be taking the shuttle). But we haven't sent invites yet so there may be a few more booking.

This is a good ?. I have a hotel shuttle bus that said they can take people from hotel to reception and back BUT they will only do it once there and back. Hmm..that doesn't seem good especially since I have a lot of out of town peeps that might want to go back early or at different times. My reception ends around 11:30pm. Should I ask if they can stick around more? If so I wonder if that's an additional fee. The hotel is only 1.5 miles down the road and I am sure there will be "sober" people who can take others if they want to go early. Sounds like all your shuttles are more flexible and available.

I guess? It seems like it'd be more convenient if they could transport everyone at once, but being that we have so many people at the hotel I guess that's expecting a bit too much and you're probably right.

Melissa - your timing sounds right.  People are not going to leave all that much earlier that the time you have anyway. I am beginning to realize that there is only so much accomodation you can do and people understand and appreciate that not every accommodation with will suit everyone.leffy - that was my problem so we booked an additional shuttle ourselves.  I just want to make sure people get to and from OK.

reception ended at 11:30 pm. shuttles left at 11:30 pm and 12:00 am. We got married at Bonnet Island and we had the place overnight, so we didn't have to rush the guests out, I think different places have different policies about that. 12:00 am was the latest the hotel shuttle would pick up or we would have done it later for people wanting to stay for the after party.

Erika...will probably do the same. Ends at 11:30 so maybe they can come around that time and hope everyone can get on. I guess I'll know better the #, etc once people start booking. I have time but so many little details to think about. My mom says they can call a cab too if they want to go back earlier. I just don't know the likelihood that cabs will be trolling the streets where the reception is being held. It's in the suburbs. lol
