Hi ladies!I met with Kim this Saturday and loved her! She was so creative and had great ideas. However, I cannot get past the $685 delivery/set-up charge she is charging!Am I being a whiner? I just feel like that is really high, compared to all of the other florists I have spoken to?? If it wasn't for that, she would (sort of) be at the top end of my budget, but I'm having a tough time justifying that to myself.

It is very high.  This is one of the reasons I chose another florist.  Her prices were higher than most.  I used Jacqueline's Florist in South Amboy and got the same exact flowerrs for half of Kim's price.   The delivery/set up charge was $100.

I don't know anything about her but some florists build the labor, set-up and delivery costs partially into the cost of he flowers itself and include it as a line item but that allows it to be a much smaller line item.

My MOH used them for her wedding last year, and they did a fantastic job! That being said, the reason why I didn't use them for my wedding was price.  I felt that they were on the higher end and that there are other florists who are just as good for less money.  I used Rose Petals and Lace and was extremely  happy with my decision!  Their work was certainly on the same level as Marquis and the prices were better.

I also really liked kim but ended up not using her because her quote was significantly higher than all the other florists I priced. I just couldn't justify spending the extra money on the same flowers that die anyway.

Thanks ladies! I wasn't sure if I was going crazy or what, since I thought that it was a bit outrageous. I also have a really hard time justifying so much for something that dies taht same day!30may09bride - I spoke to Rose Petals and Lace and they were significantly lower...but what worried me was that it didn't seem like they were very creative? I kept asking for ideas (since I'm not creative at all) and she didn't really give me many, she basically just used the pictures I brought with me - did you find that she was able to be more creative for the actual wedding?

I am actually surprised that they just relied on the pictures that you brought. When I met with them (worked with Jill) she had tons of photos of their work to show me.  If I had an idea or wanted something different (made alot of changes to centerpieces a month or 2 before the wedding), she had books of photos and tons of pictures on a laptop to show options and gave ideas based on things they have done before.  She had alot of ideas to bounce off me.  And I thought that their execution and quality of flowers was top notch.  If you go to their website and look under Even Highlights, you will see photos from my wedding (Liz and Mark).  My color scheme wasn't as bold as others (blue and white), but I was in love with my flowers!

Thanks so much...maybe they were just having an off day when I met with them. We spoke to Liz as well - maybe I'll have to revisit that!

that is a ridiculous price! mine is only $125 and she's setting up alter arrangements and about 20 centerpieces at my reception hall

We are using Marquis Florals and I don't remember her stating a set up fee for that much.  It is possible that she just rolled everything into the bottom line number but I will check my contract when I get home.
