I get why businesses do it, but why do people use them for personal reasons? Those of you who blog, why do you blog?(not at ALL being snarky, just curious)
jaime, I just peeked at your blog and read the dress shopping post. THANK THE LORD you didn't pick that cup cake dress! The is thee ugliest dress I've ever seen. lol Did you ever post pics of your actual dress here? I'm curious now.
haha syn - the cupcake dress was one of the first ones I tried on... very discouraging. I did post on here, but the pics aren't great. I don't want to hijack the post but here's two:
I did it because I thought it would be a fun way to keep track of all the different things I looked into and planned for the wedding. Plus if my friends and family want to read about it they can rather then me keep sending out emails they might not be interested in hearing about.I've never been into blogs or really thought about doing one before this but seemed like a fun way to document our wedding planning process.
I used to blog on MySpace, and have tried to set up a couple personal blogs, but I never really got into it. I don't seem to have a lot to say that people would enjoy reading about. Like Sin said, I enjoy reading certain blogs, though. Some blogs out there are just ridiculous and I can't imagine why their authors think that anyone cares about their lives enough to follow what they are writing about. But some are really good.
well im takng on a new business venture so i just had my 1st job for this yesterday, and now i want to create a blog to keep track of everything ive done and this way potential clients can look and see as well...so yea, i guess mines more for business than personal...but personal in a way that i can see my accomplishments....
I have two, one for a little side business and the other for a fundraising group that I help start up a few years ago. We document the events we attend/run and post pictures of the event.I guess personal blog are more used for the same reasons people keep journals or diaries, except with our technology now they can write them online and share with a group of people.

I actually started blogging when I was laid off about 3 months ago.. it started for a couple of reasons. I had soooo much time on my hands with nothing to do, it gave me something to focus on each day. It also became a way for me to share my frustations and challenges about being unemployed and to try to find a way to laugh about simple things. It actually became therapeutic for me. And, I realized there's a whole community of people who are dealing with the same things. My newest blog grew out of the first one. There were many days that I wanted to share funny stories about life with my hubby.. and so, I started a completely new blog for this topic!
I used to blog a lot back in the day during college. Now FI and I have a blog to journal what happends during our wedding planning, but I blog more than he does. Actually he hasn't blogged yet. I don't really blog that much to begin with - a few entries per month.
