Recommend your dress shop!

Hi Ladies, Hoping you can help me out =) My BFF is getting married in a year and I am trying to help her with finding decent dress shops. So far, besides Klienfields, I have heard of Bridals by Roma in Clifton and Bjou(sp) in Paramas. Can you give us any suggestions/experience with shops in Norther/Central NJ? Wouldnt mind NYC either .Thanks ladies and Happy planning!

Depending on your budget, Kleinfeld and ask for Keasha.

Lucky for her there is no budget =) For those who went to Klienfields...did it take a while to get an appt?

No, I made my initial appt online and then called shortly thereafter to request Keasha.  If she doesn't have a budget, I would definitely go there.

Hollywood Bridals in Kenilworth was amazing and a great selection with a variety of prices- they made you feel like you were the only bride they work with and were very organized.

Something Special in Wykcoff- the women there are so friendly and helpful. I had a great experience there for both my dress and my BM dresses.

I really liked my experience at Vera Wang (the downside being of course that they only sell Vera Wang dresses).I went to Kleinfeld's twice (once for me, once for my best friend).  I did not like the experience either time.  WAY too pushy (my friend had Keasha who was lovely, but all the other sales people/owner/etc. were doing a hard sell). My sister and best friend both got their dresses at Amsale and had great experiences. And Mark Ingram is very nice -- my best friend had a good experience there (but fell in love with an Amsale).

I also had a bad Kleinfel'd experience. I bought my dress at the Pronovias flagship store in NY. Of course, they only sell Pronovias, but it was a great experience.I also *really* liked Bijou, but they just didn't have the dress for me. My consultant was fantastic though.

I second Hollywood bridal in kenilworth. They recently moved from Union. They are my favorite vendor to work with thus far. Very patient kind and knowledgable. I'm working with Anna and Angela.

Great experience at Kleinfelds with Keasha.  I had a smaller budget at first and was still treated like a big budget bride. I eventually upped my budget and fell out of love with my first choice.  My "2nd" experience was just as nice. I wasn't rushed or pushed for either dress.

I had a very good experience and ended buying my dress at RK Bridal in NY. I went on a Sunday and it was a little bit busy.  I went on a Friday afternoon to pick up the dress and was empty.  Go during the week if you can.

I loved:1.  Amsale (their flagship store is amazing in Manhattan)  Ask for Linda.2.  JaeHee Bridal (formerly My Daughter's Wedding).  Ask for Patrice.3.  Saks Fifth Ave (in Manhattan)- Ask for Jill.If she is willing to drive to Long Island, I bought my dress at The Wedding Salon of Manhasset.  I worked with Noreen and she was an absolute dream.

Really loved Bijou Bridal in Paramus and actually visited the store twice. (Unfortunately, I did not find the dress here but the ladies here were wonderful and I told them that on the phone when they called to follow up with me) I purchased my dress from Park Ave in Verona. Went to the store three times and the first two times were wonderful. The last time when I purchased they sort of messed up my appointment but made up for it later on. I would recommend either one !

Marriage Couture in Flemington, small store but the dresses are the owner's private label. She works with designers in Europe and she's amzaing when it comes to helping you find the right dress.

I wouldn't recommend where I bought my dress but I went to Exquisite Bride in Millburn for a bridal show and tried on dresses for fun and they were very helpful.  Wish I had gone there.

I was going to go to Kleinfeld's- but was told not to waste my time! My mom bought her dress there when she got married, and even said they were pushy and rude 30+ years ago! I went to Priscilla of Boston- both in NYC and in Short Hills, NJ. I had tried on probably 70 dresses already by the time I went to Priscilla and then the lady in NY was so helpful- first dress I put on she said "i know this is the one for you"- and it was! I cried. We went through about 20 more dresses in 30 minutes, each time I knew it wasn't the one. When I put the first one on again- my friend and I cried. My sales lady- Ayana Sanchez was fabulous and knew exactly what to put me in! I then went to the Short Hills one to buy my dress, and have my mom see it. Also, buying it there I saved on the sales tax! Also, don't go to Mustillo's in Red Bank- I went twice and they were rude and when I said I needed time to think about it she downright got mad I wasn't buying then and there. Ugh
