Ring bearer duties

Did anyone not buy a ring bearer pillow if they gave or plan on giving someone in the bridal party the responsibility of holding the rings?  I am just wondering if this is an expense I can cut out or if I should buy something for the ring bearer to hold "just because".  I went to 3 weddings in the past 6 weeks and don't even remember seeing the ring bearer holding anything.

My ring bearer carried a pillow- but he DID NOT have the rings attached. I wanted my godson included in the wedding-but with being 2 1/2 years old, there was no way we even CONSIDERED having the rings on the pillow.

I've seen plenty of ring bearers walk down the aisle holding nothing. Once there were two (brothers) and they just held hands. Their only real "job" is to look cute, so if you're not dead-set o giving him a pillow you can definitely skip it if you want.

We do have pillows but even though our RBs are 8 they still will not have the rings on their pillows. That is too scaryThat being said if you opted out of pillows I am sure nobody would even notice

Our RB's did not have pillows. As PP said... their job was to look cute. LOL

Our ring bearer is 8, and I don't know how comfortable I am with him having the rings on the pillow, either. Maybe a silly question, but if he doesn't hold the rings, who does? The best man?

I dont think they carry the ring anymore, the best man holds onto them, it is just presentation, or effect whatever you want to call it.
