LOVE dirty martinis...they're my favorite special drink...I love vodka tonics too. The dirty martinis at Cheesecake Factory are my fave! They have blue cheese stuffed olives. I have yet to be able to me a good dirty martini myself. I don't know why, but I just can't do it.

If I could taste wine, I would be drinking it tonight.  MH has this house freezing so it would be nice to have a glass of red wine tonight.

FI is a manager at cheesecake - his last day is friday - new job. I used to bartend - I make a good dirty martini - ketel one - yum, olives yum.  I keep looking to see if there is an olive flavored vodka, but I haven't see one?

I have the worst cold and I am never one to really complain about being sick, but this cold is kicking my a$$.  I can't do straight vodka martini's!  I go to this bar in Millburn - Martini Bar they have some of the best Martini's I have had.  Had some interesting nights in that place!!!

ha ha - They are easy to make - just get a good vodka and olive juice and play around until you find a good ratio - I like em a lil dirtier than some, but they aren't hard.  I make a good mojito too!  Man I feel like such a alchy right now -

do you use the big olives? where do you buy them? we can't find them anywhere.

I just use regular size olives from supermarket.  You can get the large ones from any salad bar / deli (like wegmans- they actually have blue cheese stuffed ones).  Olive juice is pretty much the same all around.  Try the spanish or italian aisle at your supermarket.  Get a shaker (you should have one I hope from you shower   and mix about 3/4 vodka with 1 part olive juice and shake it like crazy - Adjust depending upon how you like flavor.  At bar I would use vermouth (dry) but you don't NEED it.

This wine girl is done, I have my niece tomorrow night so I need a good night sleep, whenever I watch her I wait till my sister gets home and we wind up staying up till a late time for me chatting.  Plus a 6 year old can run you ragged.G'night girls!Oh and Mishy, I know, now you better be ready for mine in November
