I went a little nuts buying candles and then I didn't know what to do with them all. So I brought them to the venue and they put them on the CH tables. But had it not been for those candles, I wouldn't have bothered.

I don't think I'm going to bother.... MGs....what do you think? Was it a waste or are you glad you did it? If you didn't, do you wish you had a little?

We had little containers of grass with pinwheels in them (our cocktail hour was outside).  http://tinyurl.com/llpamo

I wasn't planning on decorating. The hotel provides some votives so we are just doing that. I asked the florist and he told me not to bother with the ch.

i'm pretty sure i paid for like 1-2 more CP's than i will need. so i'm kinda thinking use the flowers in CH.

Not worth it.  My place had some floating roses I think.  It's totally fine not to do a thing and best to keep small, otherwise not enough room for people to put plates and drinks.

I actually never even thought about it.  Our venue had a small square vase with some floating flowers on each table.  I actually didn't even think of it until we were AT the cocktail hour!  I thought, wow, I'm glad they had those! lol.

We had rose petals surrounding votives. Very simple. I think it was totally worth it. I loved how it looked and a lot of my guest told me how romantic it looked and din't miss a detail, etc. It didn't cot that much more either.

dana - that's kinda what i'm getting at. they don't do candles or anything. so i'm thinking the cost of the extra centerpeice would cover the florist putting out small bubble vases with 1 flower.    if i hadn't already paid for it i prob wouldn't but its paid for.  cause its not like i remember anyone else's wedding and whether or not they had something.

I didn't bother. And I **THINK** the venue had a few votives on the cocktail hour tables already.

Our venue provides all CH decorations but if they didnt I think I would base it on the room. Our CH room has a living roomish feel so it doesnt need much but I think if it were a more simple room I would have the florist do something.

For cocktail hour the tables will have short glass vases, rectangular/square, with clear gemstones and floating candles.  There will only be flowers on the bar floating in over sized martini glasses.  I do not think you have to go overboard with this but something small would be nice to set the mood.
