I'm just getting the sheets from the reception hall that have directions from major highways. The church is right by the Turnpike and a lot of our guests are from the area (and I think that everyone has access to Google Maps) so I think we should be O.K. I'm debating if I want to suck it up and order direction cards to match our invites with directions to the church. That's over $100 that I'd rather use for something else. I thought about DIYing them on plain white cardstock but a lot of people here shot down that idea. Still undecided. I'm also thinking about printing directions from the church to the hall in our programs, or making up separate sheets that people can take on their way out of the church.Sorry, this was probably no help, more of me thinking out loud.

mbc - your outloud thinking is helpful. i'm trying to get out of having more inserts printed up because of the cost. ddelo - great tip on putting directions on program!

I did north and south directions to church, hotel and venue. Then put an insert in my program with directions from the church directly to the hotel. We had shuttles from the hotel to the venue. There are so many possibilities when it comes to directions its best not to drive yourself crazy. Especially since most people do have navigation systems and they will figure it out.

I'm toying with the idea of combining the church and hall directions onto one card (and maybe even hotel info if I can fit it) - either homemade on card stock, or maybe ordered from Vistaprint.

so true that most people have navigation... i'm just worried about our aunts and uncles who are a little old school and will look for the physical printed out directions to follow. its def making me crazy though!

I had this crazy list of all possible directions--then realized not nearly all that info was going to fit on the card in any sort of readable size font. So I ended up doing like 3 major highways to the church, from church to the hotel and from church to the reception hall.

I had general "from the north" and "from the south" directions to the church, and then directions locally to the reception so people avoided Rt. 80 on a saturday which could spell disaster. Everyone got there, so i guess they were okay directions.so many people have GPS' now that very few needed directions.
