Card stock weight

I'm trying to find inexpensive packages of white card stock on eBay, to use for programs and possibly an invitation insert if I'm feeling ambitious. What weight would you recommend? I want something that's easy to run through a regular home printer, and something that's going to be nice and stiff (that's what SHE said!). Or is it "cover stock" that I want? I'm looking at Staples.com and I don't know if the paper gets thinner or thicker as the weight number increases. TIA for advice.

Hey there! The paper gets thicker (lol @ thats what she said) as the weight number increases. 100lb cover stock is a nice thickness that is not easily bendable, although it may be tough putting it through your printer. 80 lb stock is a good weight for programs and invitations. I highly rec'd Staples brand photo paper matte (the yellow box) awesome value and product! (helped me in school)GL :)

Yes, it's cover stock you want. The same weight can come in both kinds. For instance, you can get 60# paper in both text weight and cover weight. (It's because it's the same weight paper, text weight is just cut down from a much larger piece. More info than you care to know, lol.)Higher weight = heavier ("thicker") paper
