Cake help- Raleigh

Hello!

I am getting married in June 2010. Can anyone recommend a reasonable baker in Raleigh for my wedding cake? I need a cake for 70 people.

I would appreciate any leads on bakers/pastry chefs.

Thanks!

We've done 2 tastings and we have 2 more coming up soon. The cake at Sweet Memories (in Apex) was absolutely to die for.  I've heard wonderful things about them from knotties and other brides, so definitely check them out. Their prices start at $4/slice, which seems to be about the norm around here. We have a tasting at Cinda's on Sunday and we're meeting with Ashley Cakes in a couple weeks. I heard about both of them through this board. I can't speak personally about them yet, but maybe someone else can?

We're using Sweet Memories and they are great! Their prices per slice vary by the kind of cake that you're having, but like pp said start at $4 per slice.

We used Cinda and our cake was gorgeous and every single bit of it was eaten.  And we had a cake that served 30-40 more ppl than we had guests.

I used Ashley Cakes and was really pleased - the cake was delicious and looked exactly like what I asked for!  She charges $3.50 a slice I believe.

We're using Sweet Memories. They have been amazing so far. They were a little pricer than some others that we visited but the taste and quality was worth it. The more complex the design and flavors the more expensive the cake is.

We are doing there smallest round 3 tier cake (which is for 65 slices) with 3 different flavors (each is one of her specialty flavors) which was 4.50 a slice-with buttercream, i think fondunt would have been more.

They have been great to work with. They recently started making cupcakes, cookie, brownies, etc. that they have avaliable daily and about once a month I have broken my diet for one and they always remember my FI and I.

We used Cinda's Creative Cakes and it was absolutely amazing.  Cinda is a joy to work with and it so creative and accomodating.  We didn't have a single piece left of cake, it was that good!  I have also had Sweet Memories and there cake is good as well.  I think either of those would be great choices!

I will add too that Cinda went out of her way to put our cake on her schedule fairly last minute, when our original baker decided to leave the state and not tell anyone.
