Who is good with embed video codes?

I need help!  I've never been able to do them here & never bothered to figure out what I was doing wrong.  Now I'm trying to do it for my school website.I just c&p the embed html codes generated by youtube, flickr, photobucket, whatever.  It NEVER works!!

Is it just that it takes a while for them to begin working actively?  UGH!! This is frustrating.  Until then, don't mind if I keep testing stuff in my siggy
