Question for MGs

If you had the option how many days off would you have wanted prior to your wedding for last minute details.  Im not DIYing anything but the bags for OOT guests and maybe the bathroom baskets.  I just want to make sure I will be giving myself enough time for the little stuff. It is a Sunday wedding and we will be doing manis/pedis/massages etc. on Sat. and a welcome/rehersal dinner Sat night. TIA.

I got married on a sat(am). I took half a day tuesday and the rest of the week off. But i was doing all of the program, placecard, and menu printing myself. Plus i was real last minute with a few other things too.

I think 2 to 3 days before the wedding is enough . But I guess it depends on what you have left to do.

I just took the DAy before off (Sat wedding, so I took Friday off).  I did the girls manis/pedis and prepped everything.

I took one day off work before my wedding. I used the weekend before to finalize OOT bags and bathroom baskets.

It depends on how much DIY you have to do and how much free time you have in the months leading up to the wedding.  I was working 80+ hour weeks for the three or four months leading up to the wedding (I was at trial), so I got NOTHING done during that time.  I took the entire week before the (Saturday) wedding off, and had a ton of help from my sister, and it was still a race to the finish.  But we were maybe a little too ambitious with the number of details and the complexity thereof considering my work schedule.

I did the same as you and took off Friday.  It worked out fine.  The bags and bathroom baskets you can do a couple of weeks ahead of time too.

uppereast- having a trial before is my fear right now.  I am trying to do everything I can now while I dont have any huge cases.   I am taking 2 weeks for the honeymoon so I dont want to take too much time before. Im thinking thursday half day and friday off from what everyone is saying. Thanks for the advice ladies!

my wedding was a sat, and I was off from Wed on, and my rehearsal was the friday prior (one week before, not the day before)

I had a Sunday wedding also. I took off the Friday before and it was more than enough and I DIY the flowers which was a big job.

Same as pp Married on a saturday, worked a full (very busy) late day on Thursday and had off on Friday I really don't think more than 1 day is necessary if you're only doing the OOT bags imo

I'm the exception here, but I took off the whole week before my wedding. I got married on a Friday, and my last day in the office was the Friday before. Then I took off two weeks for my honeymoon. My boss asked me if I was going to take off three weeks and seemed cool with it, so that's what I did!In my mind, the wedding was Friday, rehearsal was thurs, so I would have only worked 1-2 days that week anyway. And honestly, I so needed and loved having the time alone and off to do things. I had to go to my dress place for a final fitting and then another day for the pickup, and just packing and organizing and working out and having me time was so needed/worth it. But everyone is different!

I actually had off for like 2 weeks before the wedding. But it is only because I had left over vacay I had to take and it was the last 2 weeks of the year. But I needed to take things to the venue and OOT bags to the hotel. We did that in one day. So a lot of time isnt really needed. I also work from home and had plenty of time to get things done throughout the year. So I think my planning experience may be different from others with a busier schedule.

I got married on a Saturdy and took off Friday. I guess if I had more days to burn I would have taken Thursday too- but I didn't really need it.
