Placecard?: Two couples same name

My Aunt and Uncle are "Mr. and Mrs. John Smith", so are  my cousin and his wife (their son and dil).  Do I just put the same thing on the cards and let them figure out which is who...they are at different tables. The tables are right next to eachtoher...all my cousins at one, my aunt/uncles and parents at another.

They aren't Jr/Sr....I guess i'll have to find out my cousin's middle initial or something.

Since they aren't Jr and Sr  I would do what Vanessa said. Mr. John Smith & Mrs. Jane Smith Mr. John Smith & Mrs. Julie Smith.

FI's side is the same way. We have a couple of situations like that. mmm....not exactly sure how we're going to do it but I think I like using the middle initial. So Mr. and Mrs. John J. Smith.

If you're willing to go a little more informal, you could do "Uncle John and Aunt ___ Smith" for the grown-up ones.  Or put a nickname if your family has a nickname to tell them apart.  Or "Mr. and Mrs. Jack Smith" and "Mr. & Mrs. Johnny Smith" if they go by different abbreviated versions of their names. None of these would work if you really want to be formal though.

This response depends on the style of your placecards. We had the folded ones so on the inside, we put specific names (informal or nicknames/titles for them) for who we were referring to and it worked out perfectly.

I would add the spouse's/significant other's name for those. I will probably have a lot of these, too!

I'd add the spouses name or middle initial for both.

I had about 4 couples with the same name!!!  I cheated - I put most at the same table.  I made sure someone make sure the 4th hand-delivered theirs.  They were elderly and from India, probably had never seen a placecard and wouldn't have found it otherwise.
