Yankees Fans

How long does the parade and all the celebrating last? Just trying to figure out if it's going to effect my commute home. TIA!

I can tell you in a few hours -- my husband is going.  I would assume things would be pretty normal by rush hour.

I would guess by like 2pm.  They are kinda smart and dont do it a rush hour.

They are kinda smart and dont do it a rush hour. I don't know what time the parade actually starts but it definitely messed with my morning commute.

Reallly?  I used to work in Midtown, right where they do the st pat parade and all i could say that was a pain were the extra people. Sorry you had a bad commute today.

Parade starts at 11 ... but people started lining up at midnight apparently.  It is a pretty short route -- and not near midtown -- so it probably won't impact things much.

there is a ceremony at the end of the parade where they will get keys to the city. according to the news, that part was for people who were given tickets... about 500. so i would think the crowd would be thinned out by the afternoon.

My Mom and I were supposed to meet in the city for lunch and a movie but we're doing it tomorrow to avoid the parade chaos downtown.

The ceremony at city hall is supposed to be at 1. Hopefully it'll clear out after that!

My H was on a 5:12AM train (arrival time in Penn, 6:12) and said there were people drinking waiting for the train. NUTS! Otherwise I don't want to talk about it, I chickened out of calling out of work at the last minute and am now regretting not going! I hate myself sometimes lol

Spunky ~ On my way to work this morning I was like how did all of these people get out of work & school today? Guess a lot of sick days were used.

I so wanted to call in sick but had to be in the city early for work.  On my 6:30 path train there were a TON of people going to the parade.

Well public schools are off for teacher's convention, so kids are out anyway.

Oh that makes a lot more sense. I was like how did all of these kids get out of going to school?

Also, in previous winning years they close NYC city schools for the parade, priorities ;)
