I kinda missed all the discussions on this but I would love to meet some of you ladies at one of these if I can. Can someone send me the evites or info. I think one was at menlo and I dont know where the other one is....I probably live in the middle so I would love be able to get to one of them.email is knot name at gmail dot comTIA.

    The Rockaway on is Nov 18th at 6:30 - Olive Garden.  I can forward the evites to you guys.

    The Menlo Park Mall one (place tbd) is on 11/12 at 7pm The Rockaway Mall Olive Garden one is on 11/18 @ 6:30pm If you don't have the evites to both or either, post your email and I'll send

    That is weird, it shows you as invited on the evite.  I tried to send it again.  If it doesnt work, maybe someone else could try to send it.

    I still havent joined facebook and have tried really hard to remain off the internet radar so this is a big deal for me....FI thinks its hysterical that I wont connect online with people I know IRL but I will spend hours on here and even consider going to a gtg.

    I am a little nervous, but only because I hate the initial awkwardness.  Based on people's personalities on here I think I will get along great, but the initial hello is awkward.

    MrsF my finance had the same reaction as yours.  He thinks its "weird" that I spend so much time on the knot and am willing to go meet a group of people that post on the discussion board.  I agree about the initial awkardness but since several of us are in the same boat, that should make it easier.

    In all honesty, its not weird AT ALL...you assume it will be, but whe you get there its really not - we all have SO much to talk about and end up just telling our individual "stories" talking about people on the knot we don't like, etc. ha haha its not akward or strange...we're all women (grown at that matter) and can handle gossiping/chatting with other women with NO problems trust me Not gonna lie, the first knottie wedding I went to - felt like a wedding crasher - but it took all of 5 minutes to see a famiiliar face (Dana) and I was cool...been to 2 weddings and both were GREAT!!! And the G2G I went to was a blast too

    Now I just have to figure out which one I can go to.....I told FI to call his friends and see who wants to play with him on those nights. whichever one he makes plans for is the one Ill be going go. I guess if he makes plans for both nights Ill go to both. And if Brad decides to resurface and come to one Ill definately be at that one.....curiosity will overtake all else!

    total thread drift.....when I first joined and was lurking I remember a bunch of posts about knotties coming to peoples weddings. Is this from friendships forged through GTGs or b/c other knotties didnt hit their minimums and didnt want to pay for empty seats?

It's a little nerve wracking going to your first get together, but obvioiusly, we all have one big thing in common, so it's not hard to come up with something to talk about.  And it is fun to talk about all the board personalities.
