Where to buy furniture.....

We have been getting all of our stuff from ashley, but I noticed their prices aren't as low as they used to be.  Any other rec's?  Even online...notice some online places have good deals even with shipping.....

There are alot of warehouses that sell the same stuff for a lot less. There is one in East Brunswick off of 18 sort of behind Loehmans and one in Rahway (i think) in what looks like a run down commercial storage unit. FI and I furnished our apartment from places like that we found online. Most of the places post on ebay so we would find what we wanted, look for it on ebay and call the warehouse directly. We got our counter stools, dining table and stools, coffee table, side table from warehouses. Our couch was the only thing from a traditional store. Sams and Costco also have really good deals on furniture if you can get them in store, otherwise shipping kills the deal.

I have a membership to direct buy.  If you know of anyone that has one, they can buy the stuff for you, and you just pay them back.

Just got my TV stand/coffee table/side tables from Target (Thomasville brand)- and bought our desk/bookcase from there too- only have ever bought Thomasville stuff from them and LOVE it all. My mom's Thomasville TV stand from Target looks so high end- and was easy to put together. Can't wait to put all our stuff together!

What I did to get the best deal possible was call the manufacturers in NC and ask their prices. Then I took them to Value City who matches prices. I got probably an additional $700 off of the $8k (give or take) I spent on furniture for our house (large bedroom set, dining room set w/ 8 chairs and hutch/china cabinet, sectional, 4 tables)
