Numbering Tables for Reception

I know it sounds silly, but was there a certain way you numbered the tables?TIA

Are you doing numbers? The venue should give you a floor plan. Even numbers on one side odd on the opposite.

They gave me a floor plan since I had an odd shape. I just numbered them in order up one row and down the other. There really wasn't one side of the dance floor and the other.

Mine is letting me choose how I number the tables (and the amount of people I put at each table).

Ohhh. Mine had numbers on it so I am no help. That stinks. Maybe you can ask them for an "example" or suggestions. I am sure they will give you some direction.

I numbered them myself. Just basically went around the room in order.

It does seem silly. I mean, shouldn't the wait staff know the table numbers so they know where they are delivering the food? Our venue gave us the floorplan with the tables numbered and said anywhere from 6-10 can sit there but 8 is recommended.

there's table numbers on the tables...plus they're the ones that set it up, so they know what table is where for the most part, whether the tables are numbered differently than the last wedding or not.

Yup I had table numbers given to me.  I'd suggest even one side odd the other.

We did whatever was easiest for them to keep track, which was 1-6 on one side and 7-12 on the other.  That meant that we sat at table 9 or something random like that, but I didn't care.  And maybe it made the random table that became number 1 feel special :)
