How much do you pay for a DJ???

We went to see a DJ this morning and I really liked them and my fiance said that he was suprised because they charge so much. If you dont mind me asking, how much did you pay for your DJ and what did it include (plasma TV, light..etc..) And also who your DJ was. We went this morning to Gemini Productions in Wayne. depends on what you'd like.... just a dude hitting play, or someone to MC and get people moving, or someone to have giveaways and play games, or a soloist, lighting, tvs, slideshows... it could get rather crazy.  i think it should depend a lot on your venue and personality to what you'd like to see in a DJ.  for me, that was simplicity, high-end equiptment run by muscians, and a sololist to highlight certain songs.  nothing else.  that was $1100.

I am using Jean Marie from Entertainment with sophistication. I am getting 5 hrs of music. Lighting & giveaways for 1075. She is based out of Union NJ.

We're using Magic Moments out of Garfield. Our package includes a DJ, emcee, light show w/ fog, props, the 4 hour reception and they threw in the referral since we were there on a referral. Our price for everything is $1795, also just a note they don't tax on a DJ for some reason in NJ.
