Aisle runner

I was not originally going to use one, but I am now considering since I do not want my dress to get grass stains or my heels to sink in the grass. I have no idea where to begin. Where can I find the best deal and the best quality runner? Thanks!

Re: Aisle runner

  • I don’t think you are going to get a great deal of variety, I went over the weekend to look at a couple of wholesale venders and didn’t find anything different than what I found in Michael’s or Jo-Ann’s Etc. Prices were lower by about $10 bucks, but the same items.
  • I got our aisle runner from Joanns, it's a fabric one which is best I think.  I really wouldn't recommend using one in grass though.  Your heels will still sink and it will probably get bunched up in the grass.  Plus you're only walking down the aisle for about a minute, not nearly long enough or heavy enough to get grass stains.

  • I'm in a similar situation. I don't want to have the concrete tear up the underside of my dress. My solution is that I will not be having a train. If you really want one, get a regular aisle runner to prevent grass stains and be cognizant of sinking issues when you pick out your shoes. Make sure you get a really thick heel, wide wedge or flat so that the weight is more evenly distributed. If you can't find one that you really like or think suits your needs, you could also buy whatever material you want at a fabric store and DIY. All you'd need to do is sew the sides down so they don't fray (you could also use something like heat and bond if you don't own a sewing machine).
  • Thanks! I am still undecided. Hopefully it will all come together. :-)
  • T&A430.......FABULOUS shoes!! I love them. Anyway, I haven't found my isle runner either.  I'm contemplating getting some fabric & do it myself as I sew, but I'm not sure if I want to take the time to do it.  I did, however, get a "Rub-On" decal that will work on fabric/vinyl that says "All becuase two pepole fell in love".  I am going to put that at the bottom of the runner.  I think the previous suggestions are good.  You will not find much of a variety and finding the right shoes will make a difference.  Michaels, JoAnns, Craftwarehouse are average price.  My problem is that I only need about 45-50 feet and they usualy come in 100+.  I hear that you can ask your florist for isle runners.  I am going to try that as soon as a find a florist. Good luck! :)
  • i got mine at www.chapelrunners.com they are gorgeously made, but fit my price range
