2 photographers or 1?

We found a photographer that we love and she has amazing packages, amazing albums and now we just cannot decide if we want her to bring another photographer with her. I think maybe with a 2nd photographer we'd get more photojournalistic, natural shots.
What do you think?
What did you do?
Pros/cons?
I am a picture freak, photos are very important to me. When listing our top 3 things it was food, dj, and photos ;)

We're having two photographers... the second shooter can be with FI and the guys while they get ready plus we'll be able to get both FIs first look of me at the church and mine at him.

It just ended up that the photography package we chose with our photographer has a 2nd photographer, but I think I would've gotten one anyway. Not to say that if you only have 1 photographer it's bad, but particularly because I'm really unphotogenic I want to have that many more pictures to choose from.

I had a spectacular photographer (but not the one we chose for personality reasons) explain some other reasons (that we may not have thought of) about why a 2nd photographer is really important.

First and foremost, if you have 125-150 or more people at your reception, it's really helpful to capture all the action, especially if you're doing a photobooth or something else that might take people away from the center of the action. It also lets your main photographer really take their time and frame the exceptional shots (lighting, etc.) since they're not worried they're going to miss Great-uncle Bertram breakdancing on the dance floor or some other really important thing. They can go outside and take pictures of your reception venue at night too and other little things like that.

Second and third are the reasons that diamond just posted. At the ceremony you get so many different angles and reactions... those are going to be some really special moments.

Finally, if you're not doing a first look, it really helps to cut down on the time gap while still making sure you get tons of pics between the ceremony and the reception, including formals and the photojournalistic candids. Also, when you get to the reception/cocktail hour one photographer can be taking pictures of your reception setup/details before everyone walks in, while the other photographer catches the cocktail hour action.

We only had one and one videographer, everything turned out well and we are very happy with the results!

I'm not having a videographer, but I can see how having one might diminish the need for 2 photographers.

We only had one photographer and he did a fabulous job!   he got so many pictures and from all different angles etc.     If you get the right photographer, one is fine.  Our 1 photographer took about 1900 pictures during the course of the day and didn't miss anything, we were very pleased!
