Looking for a simple inexpensive North Jersey DJ/MC

My fiancee and i have picked every song from our ipods that we want played at the wedding...i've got plenty of time to organize the song order, we basically want someone to make announcements...introduce the wedding party, basically a master of ceremonies with a decent sound system.  we dont want any crazy lighting or fog machines or inflatable nonsense, and we dont want a DJ who will take requests or play music we dont want to hear (which for me is 99.9999% of all music :)...Any suggestions would be great, thanks!

I think 99% of people have a short list of "must plays" but rely on the DJ to feel the crowd as to the song selection and order.  No requests?  I never heard of that.

Primetime Entertainers has 6-8 Wedding Dj/Mc's to choose from. They have good pricing as well.

    Bob Albrecht from Fantasy Productions.

When you say you picked out the music, do you mean that you already picked out the special songs? Or that you want control of the entire playlist? If it's the latter, either run your own iPod or hire Colorblind to man it ... most professional DJs don't give you complete control over the entire playlist. Bob didn't play every single song we asked for, but he DID read the crowd and play music that would keep them dancing.

Julian Romero of Majestic Entertainmet. He did my friend's wedding and got rave reviews. We met with him and really liked him a lot -- we did hire someone else since my FI wanted more video (bells and whistles) for our ceremony. Also -- not sure what your budget is

thanks for all the replies! i was looking for something like the colorblind ipod DJ...i didnt know that kind of service existed.  I'm extremely stubborn about the music and figured i was going to pay alot of money to butt heads with a DJ all night :)

MH and I are also picky about music, and while we didn't choose every single song, we gave the DJ an idea of what we like and don't like. He ran with it and he played great music that kept people dancing. Yes, some of the stuff on our "Please Play" list wasn't played, but the special songs WERE played, and we realized after the wedding that a lot of the stuff we requested (The Who, Queen, ska bands, etc.) wasn't stuff that people could really dance to. We'd rather have people having fun than have them sitting there and listening to stuff from our iPods.

I'm not trying to talk you out of a customized iPod reception if that's what you want to do, though. I looked into the Colorblind iPod option at one point and it sounded cool, but I figured that MH and I wouldn't know the songs/order that'd keep people on the dance floor, so we left it up to a pro and he did a great job.

I just emailed with Jon Sinclair of Aria Melody in Hoboken.  Their slogan was No lights or fog or Chicken Dance!  I read about him the other day - 1 or 2 girls are using him. He seems nice I am going to meet with him next week or the week after.  I've also emailed Starry Night in the city who also seems very nice.  Both were no-cheese!
